Oliebollen
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 yeast cakes (1.5 tbsp active yeast)
- 6 cups flour
- ½ cup dried fruit (like currants, optional)
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for garnish
Directions:
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water; mix all ingredients into a soft dough.
- Let the dough sit in a warm place until it rises to double in size.
